The Piscataway Conoy People have been unknown and out of the history books for to long. And the knowledge that some have of who we are is myopic and there are rumors that travel about us that are told by those who have never lived a day in a Piscataway's shoes. I am always approached with questions like why are there 3 groups of Piscataway? Why don't you all get along? Indians exist in Maryland? The questions are rarely positive ones. But the idea and image the community has about who we are is greatly our OWN fault. But that changes today, please stop asking me these questions because NONE of them build community, helps those in need, or brings growth to the Piscataway Conoy Nation and Maryland.
If you have a question ask me how you can get to know us. How you can help build a bridge of support and trust between the world and Maryland's first people? My goal and work is to help this community get there. To help the next 10 generations know who they are and that is something to be proud of. To let the world know that the people at the rivers bend (Piscataway) are and will always be a prominent part of this Nations capitol. Without our ancestors there would be no Untied States. The greatness of America began with the people of the Chesapeake. A real American story of family, survival, and triumph over all adversity told by those who lived it.
Living the American Indian Experience is that story and that bridge to connect us. This program is designed to rebuild a Nation, to shine a positive light on Piscataway Conoy, and to share the truth about who we were and are today. This program has and will continue to create jobs and much needed economic growth for our people. It is copyrighted, owned, and operated by Piscataway and will stay that way for many generations to come.
We are here, we are ready to tell our story, and we are ready to share it with the world.
